What to Expect


Booking your Initial Consultation

Get in touch to discuss whether Eden can support you. Fill in the form on the Contact Us page or book directly using the green ‘schedule’ buttons throughout the website which will take you through to our booking system where you will be able to choose the date/time which suits you. Initial Consultations will take place on the phone or via video conferencing (please select your preference) and last 20 minutes. Please note initial consultations are not assessments and are offered as a way of exploring with you whether Eden may be able to support you further or if another service would be more appropriate. You can then consider all available options to you, including costs, before committing to any services.

Psychological Consultation

Prior to a Psychological Consultation we will send you a Psychological Services & Data Protection form and request your consent for us to work with you. Following this, we will request your details to create an account for you on our system, book your appointment and invoice you. Psychological Consultations can take place face-to-face, on the phone or via video conferencing and last 60 minutes. After the consultation we will write up a consultation record and may then propose further work. Psychological Consultation is usually the first stage of all our work. At present, there is higher availability of online consultations, some of which can also include a Specialist Teacher alongside the Educational Psychologist.

Assessment

Assessment can follow a Psychological Consultation and will often include an observation of the child/young person in their school or home setting, joint consultation with school staff and parents/carers, and any assessments/direct work. Following these, we may also need to undertake any background research and then will write a final report. 

If further or follow-up assessment is needed this will be discussed and recommended. It will be your decision to add this.

Interventions/Supervision/Coaching/Mentoring

Following a Psychological Consultation, a plan will be drawn up detailing the proposed work. Once this is agreed, we will arrange an intervention or supervision schedule. Following completion of intervention work, a summary report will be written for you. For supervision/coaching/mentoring, we can send you summary notes following sessions for a small additional fee.

Training

After discussing your training needs in an initial consultation, we will arrange a date/dates to deliver the training. You will be sent a Training Booking form to gather further details about the delegates, room set up and available technology. You may also be sent pre-training materials. We will ask for details of a lead contact in order to create an account on our system to book your training and manage invoices.

Payments and Cancellations

Full payment should be made at least 72 hours (three days) before the work begins unless otherwise discussed. You will receive an invoice once your booking is confirmed. Payment for training will be required upfront once the work is agreed.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before an agreed appointment can be fully refunded or the payment carried over subject to availability. Any cancellations made within 48 hours of an agreed appointment may forfeit up to 75% of the price depending on the nature of the service.
