What is an Educational Psychologist?
Educational Psychologists (EPs) work with children and young people aged 0-25 who have a range of different needs such as with learning or mental health. EPs are also interested in the personal and professional development and wellbeing of the adults who support children and young people and work alongside them to help them better understand and develop the way they offer support both directly and indirectly. Using an understanding of Psychology, EPs look at how children, young people and adults experience life within the context of their schools, home, families and work environments. They are skilled in thinking about the way individuals think, learn, feel, behave and interact and are trained to support problem-solving and promote growth and development.
